First K-Pop Concert? P1Harmony Made It Perfect!

For years, I used to be the girl who said she would never like K-pop. Ever. Well... my introduction to K-pop happened during the summer of 2024. It all started with a video of funny BTS moments, and since then I haven’t been the same. When I start liking something, it becomes my whole personality. I began listening to other groups, and some friends shared recommendations. After BTS, it was Stray Kids, then I found P1Harmony, and finally ATEEZ.
I started listening to P1Harmony when they released the SAD SONG EP, and after that they became my favourite group. I noticed they were going to announce something, and one Friday in October I woke up to the news that they were coming to Portugal. Obviously, I was so excited, but I didn’t have anyone to go with me. I got the ticket and decided to go alone.
On the day of the concert, I woke up super early because I had to catch the bus to Lisbon at 9 a.m. and needed to get everything ready. During the entire ride, I felt a little alone because everyone was talking to someone, and I was by myself. I also wasn’t listening to music because I wanted to save my phone battery... So, I basically spent four hours on a bus in silence. It was horrible, but something better was waiting for me.
When I arrived, I met my friend Sofia from Lisbon, who was my first internet best friend, and I hadn’t seen her in years. By that time, the line was huge, and everyone was wearing their best outfits. Being a concert girly, I had to buy merch, so I did. I also got a banner from the fan page girls. I had heard on TikTok and in the WhatsApp group for the concert that people would be distributing freebies. That was one of the things I loved most about the whole process before the concert. It’s amazing how fans spend time creating these incredible freebies to give away to others in line without asking for anything in return.
While waiting in line with Sofia, I started talking to the group in front of us because they had freebies— it was just some casual conversation. After some time, two girls from outside the line asked which ticket we had, and the rest is history... A girl from the group ahead, and I moved to the correct line and started talking with the new girls. Around 5 p.m., I saw a message from a girl in the WhatsApp group who was also alone, so she joined us. The five of us became a group for the night, and without them, the whole experience wouldn’t have been the same.
The concert was amazing. It was also my first time watching a group perform live, so I was a bit worried that I would miss something while focusing on just one member. Our view wasn’t great, but that didn’t matter because we sang, danced, and laughed the night away. The only downside was that when they were talking, we couldn’t hear very well. I could only understand what they were saying after watching videos on TikTok in the following days. I can confidently say that after that concert, I fell even more in love with P1Harmony. The energy, the choreography, the vibe, the way they interacted with fans... and, of course, the outfits. Everything was perfect. I literally said after the concert: “I don’t care, but next time I have to buy the VIP ticket.” Are they expensive? Yes, they are! Would I be able to talk to them during the send-off? Probably not... but honestly, I just want to be in their presence for a little bit longer than those two and a half hours.
I think everyone should experience a solo concert at least once. It’s a fantastic way to meet people who share the same interests as you, and who knows? Maybe in the future, you’ll go to another concert together. I have to admit, when I was on my way to Lisbon, I was kind of scared that I would spend the entire day by myself. But the universe has its ways and surprises us all the time! The lesson is: just because one of your favourite artists is coming to your country, and you don’t have company, don’t back down (😉) because you never know if you’ll get the chance to see them again. Just do it! Don't be shy and make some friends, everyone is there for the same thing.

Some photos from the concert :)
